Particularly when they played the famous, amazing stuff that everyone loves. Like, when he belted out Run and Chasing Cars and Shut your Eyes and You're All I Have and 20,000 people sang it back with him in unison, I couldn't help but feel that there were 20,000 assorted emotional connections to them all melded into this one beautiful sound. I dunno if he was just putting it on, but he seemed genuinely overwhelmed by it. After Run, he completely missed his cue for the next song, and was all like, "I'm so sorry. Where the singing was supposed to start, I just didn't. I really apologise. I was just blown away by the response to that last song. Thank you." After Chasing Cars, he was laughing and said, "People ask me if it gets boring playing the same songs every night. Ha ha, fuck me no."
It was completely unlike any other gig I've been to. I haaave to see them again.
